Euro Lane. 45sqm. 2017. Flinders Lane, Melbourne
A poky, dark and enclosed bathroom has been amplified to provide separation between the living and sleeping zones. Entry is via a set of oversize steel doors with opaque infills designed to flood the space with light. At night, the washroom presents as a giant lantern for the hallway.
Concealed uplighting accentuates the proportions of the lofty space. Joinery insertions are minimal and recede into or reflect the existing fabric. Furnishings are pre-owned, mid-century.
